Another Mitsubishi brand Pajero accelerated towards flyover near San Agustin
Another Mitsubishi brand Pajero accelerated towards General Luna flyover at the corner of University of San Agustin at 4 am this morning 10 Dec 2015. Iloilo City DRRM in-house response team ICER rushed to aid the victims. All patient involve in this accident was brought to West Visayas State University Medical Center. Members of the Iloilo City DRRM council help removed the said vehicle before rush hour. Traffic investigator still under investigation to the accident. (Photo: PN)

Iloilo's modern Doppler radar station now operational
The state-of-the-art Doppler radar station of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in Iloilo is now operational.Considered as the most modern and advanced in the country, the Iloilo Synoptic and Doppler Radar Station is located at the compound of Western Visayas Agricultural Research Center (WESVIARC) of Department of Agriculture(DA) in Barangay Hamungaya, Jaro. The completion of the first Doppler radar station and its complex in Western Visayas worth some P120 million will further boost efforts of Department of Scienceand Technology (DOST) to enhance forecasting, accuracy and timeliness of weather conditions in the region.
The radar has a coverage of 300 to 400 kms, covering the entire region. It is equipped with an entirely new weather monitoring facilities including brand new basic meteorological equipment and a robust communication system. It is operating 24 hours in 2700-2900 MHz in S Band and will supplement the existing 12 Automated Weather Stations (AWS), 13 Automated Rain Gauges (ARGs) and three Water Level Sensors (WLS) of the region.

A stroke Artist Fernando Q. Kabigting donated Nuestra Sra. del Rio de Iloilo (Our Lady of the Iloilo River)
Our Lady of the Iloilo River. This masterpiece by Artist Fernando Q. Kabigting who suffered a stroke in 1999 has been donated to the Iloilo City government and shall be placed at the Iloilo River Esplanade. This shall be called the Nuestra Sra. del Rio de Iloilo (Our Lady of the Iloilo River).
